Getting to the Río Baker

For better planning the logistics for your trip, we recommend our clients to have the following itinerary for 7 nights / 6 full fishing days at Patagonia Baker Lodge.

All guests fly into Santiago (SCL), and from there, onto Balmaceda (BBA). If you arrive from the US or Europe, plan on departing your home city on Thursday. Generally, your overnight flight will be Thursday night, arriving in Santiago on Friday morning.

  • We recommend avoiding tight connections on the route down, in case of delays!
  • We highly recommend our guests keep traveling from Santiago to Balmaceda, and spend Friday night in Coyhaique, so you can rest at the hotel and be ready for your trip south to Patagonia Baker Lodge next morning.
  • The hotel in Coyhaique, dinner and any other activities are not included in the price of the lodge package.

You should arrive at Balmaceda airport (BBA) on Friday and spend the night at a hotel in Coyhaique. Please note that this day in Coyhaique is a good option to ensure you have enough time for your transfer from Santiago (SCL) to Balmaceda (BBA). Your reservation includes the cost of:

  • Transfer from Balmaceda (BBA) to your hotel in Coyhaique
  • Transfer from your hotel in Coyhaique to the lodge the following day
  • Your departure transfer from the lodge to the airport, or any other destination according to your schedule
